SJ Giants past and present in All-Star Games

Eastern League's best set for All-Star Game: "What do Connecticut's Madison Bumgarner, Akron's Carlos Santana and Reading's Joe Savery have in common? They're all EL All-Star picks." (Via MiLB News Index.) I dropped the ball on California - Carolina League All-Star game, where Buster Posey, Thomas Neal, and Roger Kieschnick played for the Cal League. So I am going to make sure that I cover the AA and AAA All-Star games on July 15. In the Eastern League All-Star game, four former SJ Giants will be playing. Pitchers Madison Bumgarner (2009) and Joe Paterson (2008) will join 2nd baseman Brock Bond (2008) and... outfielder Eddie Martinez-Esteve (2005) on the Northern Division roster. The Pacific Coast League - International League All-Star game will feature two formers SJ Giants. Outfielder John Bowker (2006) and pitcher Kevin Pucetas (2008) are on the PLC squad. Fireworks at Muni

Fireworks at Muni, 2005 Pizarro: No fireworks? No problem: The San Jose Giants have pulled off the biggest save of the season. The team is announcing today that -- thanks to a partnership with the city of San Jose, San Jose State University and Comcast -- Fourth of July revelers can watch its expanded fireworks show for free on Saturday. (Via Mercury News: News.) You can expect a larger than usual 4th of July crowd at Muni this Saturday and exiting from the ball park may take a little more time than usual. But it should be a great show and a good ball game as well. Hats off to the SJ Giants for playing host for San Jose. And thanks to Marty for the heads up. Woops, I missed this one

And belated congrats to Jason Waddell...: who after nine seasons in the minors made his MLBB debut in May with the Cubs. Jason is currently on the DL after seeing action in three games throwing a total of 1.2 IP with no won/loss record. Get well Jason! Thanks for the call out batboymeister.... And another name goes on the wall

Ryan Sadowski, 2005 Ryan Sadowski to start Sunday: " The Giants will purchase the contract of right-hander Ryan Sadowski, who will start Sunday's series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers. It'll be Sadowski's major league debut. (Via Extra Baggs.) Ryan Sadowski (2005) will be the latest SJ Giant to join the Major Leagues. It has been a long road for Ryan. He missed the 2006 season with an injury, spent 2007 in Connecticut and started there in 2008 before being promoted to Fresno. Ryan started in Fresno this year and has gone 5-2 with a 4.11 ER. Bumgarner, Villalona in 2009 Futures Game

2009 Futures Game Rosters: The 25 U.S. and 25 World members of the 2009 Futures Game. (Via Baseball America.) Madison Bumgarner and Angel Villalona were selected to represent the SF Giants in the 2009 Futures game. Bumgarner started the year in San Jose and was promoted to AA Connecticut in May.
