By now most of the season ticket holders have received the letter. It lets us know that season tickets are going up in price by $345 to $770, a price increase of 81%.
Just for comparison, comparable seats are $560 for the season in Stockton and $675 for the season in Rancho Cucamunga. Both of those facilities are significantly newer than SJ Muni. I guess now that we live in the tenth largest city in the US, we can afford to pay big city prices.
If we lived in Portand, we could get reasonably similar seats for $756 a season (the first few rows are $1296-1080 per seat) to watch the triple A Portland Beavers (a Padres affiliate).
I expected this to happen. But I am a little shocked by the size of the increase. What do you think? Click on the link below to comment.
