photo by Tom CliftonNot surprisingly, Giants aren't showing much pop: - Catcher Guillermo Rodriguez, who has missed most of the exhibition season because of a hip pointer, threw out two runners trying to steal in the bottom of the ninth. He nailed Jeremy Reed for the second out, then got Juan Diaz for out No. 3.
The throw to get Diaz was so strong and accurate that Rodriguez started trotting off the field while the ball was still in flight, like a basketball player who knows the shot is good and heads back to play defense.
