As expected, the 2008 SJ Giants roster contains lots of new faces. When you win the Cal League, you don't expect too many returning players. The 2008 roster contains only eight players who have worn an SJ Giants uniform before. Returning from the 2007 squad are Ryan Paul, Jesse English, Talyor Wilding, Pablo Sandoval, Brad Boyer, and Mike Mooney. Tyler La Torre was with the team briefly in 2006 as was Craig Witakaker (though I don't think I ever saw him pitch).
Notable amoung the new faces are Tim Alderson, Kevin Pucetas, and Ryan Rohlinger. Alderson was the 22nd pick over all in last years draft. Pucetas owned the lowest ERA in minor league baseball last season. Rohlinger was a late addition to the big league camp this season (when most people are moving down, he moved up).
It is going to be fun meeting and watching the new SJ Giants this year.
