BaseballAmerica on Rohlinger's late invitation

Late Call: "Ryan Rohlinger's invitation to Spring Training came later than others, but he didn't feel left out in the least."

Ryan Rohlinger is San Jose's new 3rd baseman. After five games in an SJ Giants uniform he is batting .227 with 5 hits, 5 RBI, and a home run. Get some pictures of him at the home opener for me.

The calendars are shipping

Catching up with Jon Coutlangus

D-backs get Coutlangus for Perales: "The D-backs acquired left-hander Jon Coutlangus from the Reds in exchange for outfielder Daniel Perales on Monday."

Coutlangus (SJ Giants, 2005) was picked up by Reds in the rule 5 draft. He finished with the Triple-A Louisville Bats in 2006 and made the Reds active roster in 2007, appearing in 64 games. This year he started back with the Bats. The Diamondbacks optioned him to the Triple-A Tucson Sidewinders.

Cout was a fan favorite in San Jose. His most notable stunt occurred at the opening game of the 2005 playoffs when he was chased through the outfield by one of the San Jose Police's mounted officers.
