Ugly loss in Portland 5-4 in 11 innings...: "as a Justin Hedrick wild pitch with the bases loaded and two outs scores the winning run. That's two losses in as many games for Justin. Adam Cowart started and was gone by the fourth giving up 4 runs; 3 earned and 9 hits with a walk. The bullpen then combined on 7 shutout innings of one hit ball with 7 Ks. Those relievers were Steve Palazzalo (2 IP, one hit 4 Ks, ERA is still zero), Kelvin Pichardo (2 IP, 1 K), and Orsis Matos (3 IP 2 Ks, his ERA is still zero). Offensively, David Maroul, Olmo Rosario each had a RBI and EME had two RBIs. EME also THREW OUT two runners one at third and one at second! TI went 2 for 5 and Adam Witter went 2 for 4. It's the first time the Defs have lost two in a row this season. Newcomer Kyle Haines finally got into a game going 0 for 1." (Via Greg's Connecticut Defenders Blog.) I am not sure whether I can believe this post or not. Eddy Martinez-Esteve threw out two runners? Add two RBI and that is a pretty good game. I am also pleased to see that Kyle made the jump to Connecticut. I was a little worried when I didn't see him on any of the rosters at the start of the season. Sounds like it's tough sledding for Justin right now, though.
