Brooks McNiven (SJ Giants, 2006) was perfect for 5 innings in Connecticut tonight and finished with the win as the Connecticut Defenders ended a 5 game losing streak with a 1-0 win over the Redding Phillies. Brooks went seven innings and was replaced by Kelvin Pichardo in the eighth and Sergio Romo got the save in the ninth.
Adam Witter provided the offense with a home run in the fourth. Congrats to the Defenders.

Sirah, 2006 Unfortunately I wasn't there (still trapped on the coast by a dog, a growling, menacing dog ;^p). But the Giants were there without Fred Lewis and they still beat the Oaks nicely.
Jessie English pitched well (5 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and 2 Ks) and Pablo hit like he wants to move up (2 hits 2 RBI). Taylor Wilding also showed up with a stellar 1.6 innings for the save. Other notables, Mike McBryde had three hits and an RBI, Sharlon Schoop had two hits and two RBI, and Brett Pill had two hits and an RBI.
