In the Futures Game

One current and one former SJ Giant will play in the Futures game before the All-Star Game next month. Pitcher Kevin Pucetas and outfielder Nate Schierholtz (2005) will represent the Giants on the US Futures team. Future SJ Giant Angel Villanova (please, please) will play for the World team. Congrats to all.

In the last two years the three former SJ Giants have played in the Futures game, Kevin Frandsen (2005) played in 2006 and last year Brian Bocock (2007) and Henry Sosa (2007) graced the US and World team respectively.

Roster Moves

You knew that it was only a matter of time, and fortunately for the players, it happened after the Cal-Carolina All Star Game. Ben Snyder, Ryan Rohlinger, and Pablo Sandoval have been promoted to the Connecticut Defenders. Matt Downs was promoted to the Fresno Grizzlies.

Coming up from Augusta are pitcher Joe Patterson and catcher Jackson Williams. Catcher Dayton Buller is coming in from Fresno and Brad Boyer is rejoining the team after a stint in Connecticut.
