Woops, Geno won't be going to Beijing

Giants replace hurt Yabu with Espineli: "The Giants added left-handed reliever Geno Espineli to the active roster Sunday, taking the spot of the struggling Keiichi Yabu, who went on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right middle finger."

Former SJ Giant Geno Espineli (2005) learned last night that his Olympic dreams are over. But I am guessing that it is ok, since he was added to the SF Giants active roster. Congrats again Geno!

Update - Geno made his MLB debut today, pitching a 1-2-3 8th inning with one K.

There's no place like home...

S.J. Giants top Modesto 7-5: "S.J. GIANTS 7, MODESTO 5 Mike McBryde went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs to help the San Jose Giants end a season-high six-game losing steak."

Every year, the SJ Giants seem to have one bad road trip. And you can't get any worse than 0-6. But coming home can cure all, as it did last night. I am sure the TJ's swelled crowd of 2,660 helped as well. Good job. Go Giants!
