Another affiliate wins a division title: "The Connecticut Defenders clinched the Eastern League North Division title Saturday by beating Harrisburg in the first game of a doubleheader." (Via San Francisco Giants News.) Congratulations to the Defenders, they join the SJ Giants and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes as division champs.
The SJ Giants will start their playoff campaign against the winners of the mini-series between Modesto and Bakersfield (assuming that I can read the Cal League Standings right).
Now the cool thing is the the SF Giants are now tied for the NL wild card spot. Many of the kids now playing for the SF Giants received playoff experience in San Jose, Augusta, Salem-Keizer, and now Norwich. It is going to help them this year and in future years.
Again, congrats to all.
