Attendance tops 200,000 again

For the second year in a row, attendance at Muni topped 200,000. In addition, Muni beat out Banner Island Ball Park to take second in the Cal League for attendance. Congrats are in order to the entire SJ Giants Organization. Thank you for providing a great venue for watching professional baseball.

Now let's make one simple change that would allow me to personally help you build on this year attendance numbers. In 2007 I attended 66 games at Muni. I would like an opportunity to exceed that in 2011.

Nuts, Ports, Giants

California League playoff preview: "The Nuts are riding a six-game winning streak and face the Ports, while the Quakes battles the Mavs in the other opening-round series."

Hmmm, when have we seen this playoff match up before? Certainly in 2004 when it was Giants, Ports, A's. The last few years Visalia has been in the mix, as they were until yesterday, but it just seems like the Ports, Nuts and Giants match up, this time of year.

Stockton and Modesto will start their series tomorrow. San Jose will play the winner for the Northern Division Championship series, starting on Saturday.

Time to head out to Muni and cheer the Giants on!

Daren became the 100th former SJ Giant to make it to the show, when he was called up by the Giants today! Congrats to Daren and the SJ Giants!

SJ Giants in the Arizona Fall League

Roster for the Arizona Fall League were announced today and two former and one current SJ Giant will represent the organization. Infielders Brandon Belt and Conor Gillaspie will join Charlie Culberson and play for the Scottdale Scorpions. Congrats to all!

When banning is necessary

Fan hits player with baseball, banned from minor league park for life: "A fan has been banned for life from Richmond Flying Squirrels home games after a foul ball he threw back onto the field hit the opposing team's pitcher."

Richmond was completely right to remove and ban this fan from their home games. Baseball doesn't need fans like that.
